New Shows I'm Loving

Happy Wednesday!

One of my favourite things about fall (except it's Spring in Australia!) is new TV shows! I love TV shows. Tj prefers movies but I usually fall asleep. I need something shorter to keep my attention span. You can read about some of my favourite tv shows here.

A few months ago looked up some new shows that were coming out that sounded interesting and made sure to watch a few episodes. I hesitate to get invested in new series because so many of them get cancelled. A few years ago there were three shows I was obsessed with and they all got cancelled so last year I started being very selective about any new shows I start watching. I don't want to waste my time. I thought I'd share some of the new shows that Tj and I have been enjoying:

You

Starring Penn Badgley, “YOU” is a 21st century love story that asks, “What would you do for love?” When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way. The series also stars Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell, with a special guest appearance by John Stamos (from my lifetime.com)

Why I'm loving it: It's such a stalker show! I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I am but I am totally hooked. I was worried about how they would keep the story going but it's been fun and super creepy at the same time. And for someone reason I like the fact that the main girl Beck isn't entirely likeable. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes Riverdale or Gossip Girl.

A Million Little Things

They say friendship isn't one big thing, it's a million little things; and that's true for a group of friends from Boston who bonded under unexpected circumstances. Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. After one of them dies unexpectedly, it's just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way they discover that friends may be the one thing to save them from themselves (from abc.go.com)

Why I'm loving it: So many feelings! This show is about four guy friends and their wives. It reminds me a lot of This Is Us where you laugh and you cry but in a good way lol. Tj also watches this one with me :)

Manifest

When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. Yet in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they're all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible. From Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Jeff Rake and Jackie Levine comes an emotionally rich, unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart and destiny (from nbc.com)

Why I'm loving it: The premise was really interesting to me. What would it be like to land from a flight and find yourself in the future and that your whole life has moved on because they thought you were dear. Crazy! Tj and I watch this one together and so far it's the show he wants to watch first every week, so I think that means he is liking it.

All American

The CW debuted its latest teen drama, All American, and this time there's no comic book characters, witches or vampires. The latest offering from the network is a grounded rags-to-riches football story, inspired by the life of NFL player Spencer Paysinger. British actor Daniel Ezra leads the series as Spencer James, a gifted football player trying his best to make it out of Crenshaw, California, when he's recruited by Coach Baker (Taye Diggs) to come play at the much fancier Beverly Hills High. It's a classic fish-out-of-water story, complicated by secret family dynamics and 2018 politics (from tvguide.com).

Why I'm loving it: I had a feeling I would like this one, mostly because I love Friday Night Lights so much. So far I'm a little suspicious of the coach's motives but this one seems like something I'm going to love. And I didn’t even realize it was inspired by a real football player.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Magic and Mischief collide as half-human, half-witch Sabrina navigates between two worlds: mortal teen life and her family's legacy, the Church of Night. Part 1 coming to Netflix October 26!

Why I’m loving it: This show isn't even out yet, but because I'm a fan of Archie Comics and Riverdale, I'd definitely going to check this one out!

Have a great week :)
