Australian Travel Bucket List
When Tj and I lived in London, we made a list of all the places we hoped to visit in Europe. We even wrote down how long we wanted to go to these places for - was it somewhere we could go for a quick weekend getaway, or was it somewhere we wanted to spend a bit more time? How long are the flights to get there? What time of year is best to go there? We had to prioritise our holidays and the trips we wanted to take back to Canada for weddings and other events. We were very lucky in London that we had a lot of vacation time to work with. We managed to go on lots of trips. We do this thing where we buy a postcard from everywhere we travel. In London we put them all on the wall and it was fun to watch it fill up. We didn't get to go everywhere on our list, but hopefully we will someday!
When we were contemplating the move to Australia, one of the things that appealed to us was the opportunity to travel more on this side of the world. Tj loves Asia and we are a little bit closer now. We also really want to visit Bali and New Zealand. We still need to work on our full list of places we want to go, but now that we've been here three and a half months, it's time to start our Australian travel bucket list.
Here are some of the top places we want to visit in Australia:
- Whitsundays / Hamilton Island
- Margaret River
- Kangaroo Island
- Tasmania (I didn't know that there was such a thing as Southern Lights, which are like the Northern Lights, but apparently you can see them from Tasmania!)
- Byron Bay
- Australian Outback
- Sydney
- Cairns (I went to Cairns and Daintree Rainforest last time I was in Australia and I would love to take Tj back to these places and see if they are as beautiful as I remember)
Great Ocean Road was on our list, so that's one we can cross off! We have done a few good road trips from Melbourne already and there are still more we want to take. The pictures below are all repeats of ones I've posted before, but look at the nice places we've been so far! Hopefully over the Easter long weekend we will get more travelling done. Time to start planning some trips!!
Have a great week :)
