My First Book Love: Archie Comics!

Happy Friday!

It was nice having a short week this week! I've never had a holiday on a Wednesday before, but it really split up the week nicely. I was walking around and the streets were so busy. The patios were packed by noon, so it seems like I'm not the only one who enjoyed the day off.

Tj is adjusting pretty well to the time difference, but he was really tired after work yesterday. It's nice having him back :) Now we can finally put some stuff in storage. I wanted to do it when he was gone and I was getting organised but a) it's really hard to lock the storage locker door because it doesn't line up and I'm not sure I can do it on my own, and b) our storage unit is kind of creepy. You can hear water running, and our section doesn’t have any lights so you need to use your cellphone like a flashlight. It's just a lot easier with two people lol.

Fridays are all about books! I think you can tell by now that I have always been a bookworm, but I also loooovvvveee Archie comics. They are just so satisfying. When I was a kid I used to re-read them over and over. Whenever I was home sick I would sometimes get a new one as a feel-better treat. And one time Phil gave me a big box of his old Archie comics! It was heaven. They got destroyed a little bit but they are just worn out from love. I read my comics so many times, I can pick one up years later and I still know all the stories.

People still buy them for me sometimes (especially since Costco started selling the jumbo ones) and I treat myself before I have a long flight. I will always choose a Betty and Veronica edition. My next favourite character is Archie. He just gets into so much trouble lol.

It was so fun when the show Riverdale came out. So many old friends contacted me to tell me about it! I remember my friend in London was watching the show, and I tried to explain the comics to her, and how different they were from the show. She had no idea Riverdale originated from a comic book!

Sometimes you don't want to read a book, if you don't have a lot of time, or you can't focus. Archies are great to just pick up and put down whenever. They are perfect to read by the pool (or in the pool) or while waiting for something. Kids love them. I have realised I will never outgrow my love of Archie comics.

OMG I just thought of the funniest story… one time I bought a bunch of stuff from Etsy, including an Archie comic purse!! Haha it was so silly. It was just comic pictures glued onto a little clutch/wallet. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it! What a waste of money. It always makes me laugh. I was going to lend it to my cousin (who also used to love Archie comics) to use for my wedding but I forgot. I think I still know where it is though, so I will have to make sure I loan it to her next time I am in town hahaha. And I'll have to take a picture for the blog because it probably doesn't sound that funny to you, but trust me, if you saw it you would laugh too. I wasn't lying when I said I loved Archies LOL.

Have a great weekend! If you need to cheer yourself up at all, I suggest a nice comic book :)
