Travel Throwback Thursday: Seville!

Time for another Travel Throwback Thursday! I'm going to need to start travelling again before I run out of posts LOL.

Today I'm going to share some of the photos from our trip to Seville in Spain!

We went here for Easter in March 2016. One of the reasons I chose this trip this week is because I've been thinking a lot about my Babi. After I went here she told me about the time she travelled to Seville with my Grandad and her purse got stolen and Grandad chased after the theif! Go Grandad go! I don't think she got it back though?

I don't remember all the details of my trip, but here are some things that stand out:

  • This was my second trip to Spain. I had been to Barcelona for a few days with some girlfriends years earlier. To be honest Spain wasn't that high on my list of places I wanted to go in Europe and then I felt really stupid because it completely blew my mind.
  • We drove from Madrid to Seville and stopped in the town of Trujiloto see the castle (Tj's friends learned really quickly that I LOVE castles)
  • Tj's friends are awesome! This was my first time traveling with them and they were so nice! It was such a great experience finally getting to know some of his best friends from Europe :)
  • There were orange trees everywhere and I loved them! So pretty
  • The processions. During Holy Week there are there are processions of floats of sculptures of the cross, Jesus, and the Virgin Mary. It is very traditional and unlike anything I've ever seen before. It was really special to see and I will never forget standing in the crowded streets watching the parades. There is so much more to it than that but I don't want to explain it wrong.
  • There weren't many vegetarian options at restaurants. We went to one really meaty restaurant with a bunch of people and I swear they just ordered plates of meat to share and a side of french fries. It was a hole in the wall restaurant that was so packed there were hardly any tables, everyone just stood and crowded around and there was a big bull's head on the wall!
  • I think that might be one of Tj's favourite meals that he's ever had!!
  • On the way back to Madrid we stopped in Córdobafor a few hours. We didn’t have much time there, but it was fun to explore because Tj's Spanish friends had never been there either.
  • We sped through the Mosque-Catherdral of Córdoba but I definitely could have spent a lot more time there. This was pre my blogging days so I don't even have that many good pictures of it
  • We had an afternoon in Madridand I got to meet even more of Tj's friends! I finally got to try gazpacho and I loved it.

I remember being tired a lot on this trip and now looking back I can see why! We really jammed a lot into a long weekend lol.

My baby bro Jacob is going to do a year abroad in Spain and I think that will be the perfect time to go back for a visit!

Have a great Thursday! It's almost the weekend :)
