5 Books I Can't Wait To Come Out

Happy Friday!

I hope you are having a great week so far.

Today's photo is brought to you by Tj, all the way from the not-so-sunny beaches of Cambodia! Tj devoured his book in a few days was asking me for new recommendations. He refuses to try any other author though because he really enjoys Harlan Coben's books. Tj is eating his way across Malaysia now, but he gets back on Sunday and watch out for some upcoming posts all about his trip!

I've had a pretty busy week. I've switched things up and have been going to the gym in the morning. I was looking forward to sleeping in on the weekend but I have a hair appointment first thing in the morning on Saturday. The good thing about the hair salon is the reading time! I'm usually there for hours, so I always make sure to bring along something good to read and a snack.

I just finished a good book last night, and I was excited to start something new. I started going through my list of books I want to read. I had some on there that I know I'll never get to, and when I looked them up again they didn't even sound that good. If I'm not excited about a book then I'm learning cut the clutter and not even waste my time trying to get into it.

On the other hand, there are some books that I can't wait for! Here are my top 5 picks for books worth the wait:

  1. A Noise Downstairs by Linwood Barclay (July 24, 2018) - I've really enjoyed all the books I've read by this author (and I think Tj would too!). Luckily I only have to wait a few more days for this one to come out!

  2. Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (September 18, 2018) - This is the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series about a veteran turned private eye. And news flash - Robert Galbraith is the pen name of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling! It's worth starting at the beginning of this series if you haven't read the other three books because I love the sub-plot of Strike's assistant Robin and how her story builds throughout the series too.

  3. Prisoners of Hope by Barbara Fradkin (October 6, 2018) - Another Canadian author I love! This is the third book in the Amanda Doucette series, about a nanny accused of murdering her wealthy employer.

  4. The Next Person you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom (October 9, 2018). This is the sequel to the very popular book The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I haven't read that one in a while, but Albom's touching stories always speak to me (or make me cry).

  5. Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty (November 6, 2018). This Australian author wrote the book Big Little Lies which was turned into a tv show. I love her books because the characters are really great and they are set in Australia!

Honourable mention: Past Tense by Lee Child (November 5, 2018) (Jack Reacher # 23)

Hmmm… I'm starting to recognize my reading trends - 1. series, 2. authors I love, 3. cities/countries I've lived in.

Have a great weekend! Happy reading :)
