Weekend Update

Happy Monday!

This weekend was definitely not long enough! There was so much more I wanted to do. Including more naps haha. We both have a busy week ahead, so it was nice to have a quiet weekend at home. Here are some of our weekend highlights:

  1. Advanced screening of the new movie Mission: Impossible - Fallout. And I didn't even fall asleep! Tj has been dying to see this movie and we managed to get tickets even though it's not officially out yet. It was a great start to the weekend. We both enjoyed the action-packed movie, although I wish I would have watched the previous one (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation) again before seeing it just to refresh myself on some of the characters.
  2. Walk and brunch - On Saturday Tj slept in pretty late. When he finally woke up, we went for a nice walk and it was gorgeous outside! It was hot and sunny and t-shirt weather! It was nice to have a walk around the neighbourhood. We didn't have much time for brunch, so we went to a place nearby that we've been wanting to go back to. We've been there once before, but Tj wasn't that hungry so only I ate. He did the same thing this time! He said he was going to eat right up until the moment it was time to order haha. It's ok… mine was delicious!
  3. Pilates class - There is a gym nearby that was having an Open Day so I signed up for a free Pilates class. I loved it! I used to do a lot of Pilates in university and when I lived in London. However, the staff at the gym were a little rude and they don't offer a class pass, so I won't be joining them anytime soon. Was still fun though.
  4. Bought some new artwork - I have really been wanting to decorate our place a little more. We can't hang art properly because we are renting, but I found some hooks that won't damage the walls. We had fun picking out some prints which will hopefully get delivered later this week. They aren't as nice as the art Jacob got us as a wedding present, but they'll have to do in Australia and hopefully, they will make our little apartment feel homier.
  5. Trip research - so much trip research! We are trying to plan a few days away when Jacob comes, and also a short trip over Christmas. Planning trips is fun but also so much work! There are so many places we want to go and see. But is it the right time of year? How much is it going to cost? Do the flight times fit our schedule? What about accommodation? Australia reminds me of Canada in that it can be so expensive to fly within the country. I miss cheap flights in Europe. It is cheaper to fly to Asia that to some parts of Australia that we want to go. But if we go to Asia the flight it twice as long, and is that really worth it for a long weekend? Haha, trust me I'm not complaining. It's nice to have something fun like this to work on.

Today's post was actually supposed to be another special edition of Tj Away where he was going to tell us all about his recent travels. But we spent so much time doing trip research he didn't have time this weekend. So Sunday night I was scrambling a little to get this ready, but he has promised a post next week haha so stay tuned. And I had no photos so I made Tj take these silly ones with Snapchat filters hahaha.

Hope you have a great week :)
