10 Things I'm Excited for in Canada!

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend. Tj and I had a nice Saturday. We went for brunch and then browsed in some furniture shops. We are having so much fun trying to decorate our balcony. I think our vision is really starting to come together, now if only we can find exactly what we want in our budget haha. I’m really looking forward to using that extra space.

I’ve been having a hard time relaxing this weekend because I’ve been thinking a lot about some stuff going on at work. So instead of feeling stressed about it, I'm trying to think about something more positive - like my upcoming trip to Canada. In a few weeks I'm going home for the first time in 15 months and I AM SO EXCITED! I can't wait!

Here are 10 things I am excited for in Canada:

  1. Hanging out with family and friends - Sure we Facetime and chat all the time but that's not the same. It's going to be so nice to hang out with people in person. We've had some visitors during our time in Australia but mostly I only see Tj hahaha so I'm really looking forward to seeing some other familiar faces.

  2. Meeting all the babies - There have seriously been so many babies born since I've moved here and I can't wait to meet the littles while they are still little.

  3. Playing with the dogs - You already know I miss the dogs. I'm going to put on some ratty old PJs and give them belly scratches and lots of treats and get full of dog hair and drool and not care haha.

  4. Seeing one of my besties get married - Even though I'm going back to Canada, I will be heading out to Punta Cana for a few days to see one of my girlfriends get married. It's going to be awesome to have a few days just with my girlfriends.

  5. Baking day - My cousin Taylor and I are going to have a day where we bake recipes, decorate cakes, and practice our plating skills. Who wants to eat it all when we are done?!

  6. Browsing in Chapters - I love hanging out in Chapters for hours, having a Starbucks, browsing through all the books and home goods. They don't have anything like that here and I'm looking forward to it so much! Might have to visit a Winners and Home Sense too haha.

  7. Poutine - Mmmmm

  8. Eating my mom's food - There are some things my mom makes that just feels like home - like her fried rice or lentils. And it will be so nice not to have to cook for myself for a few days hahaha.

  9. Exploring my city - I grew up in Ottawa but it's been over seven years since I've lived there full time and it's always fun to try new restaurants and walk around and see how everything has changed.

  10. Tidying up - Now that I did some tidying up in Australia, it's seriously freaking me out a little how much stuff I have in Canada. Time to clean it up and clear it out!

One thing I am not looking forward to is the cold! I am seriously not ready for it haha. I play tough in Australia and say 'it's not even cold here', but I am going to be so wimpy for Canadian cold haha.

Well, the blog has served its purpose for me once again and I am already feeling lighter and happier after writing that list. See you soon Canada!

Have a great week :)
