Weekend Update

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend.

Tj and I had my favourite type of weekend - full of naps, exploring, and lots of reading :)

On Friday night Tj and I were pretty tired. We had a nice dinner at our favourite Mexican restaurant and then caught up on this reality show we are completely hooked on - Married at First Sight (it's so bad but so good!).

Saturday morning we went to the gym. We joined a new gym not too long ago and we are loving it. I might do a post about it soon, but you spend about half the class doing intervals on the treadmill and the other half doing weights or body weight exercises and going on the rower. On Saturday I achieved my personal best so far! I transitioned from power-walking on the treadmill to jogging! I have been slowing making progress and I could do some of the intervals where you have to push yourself at a jog, but I never thought I'd be able to jog for the whole thing. Without any walking? No way. But on Saturday I did it!!!!! Tj kind of pushed me into it at the beginning of the workout, and then I challenged myself to see if I could keep going. It was an endurance workout too, so we were on there a long time. I was so proud of myself when I finished it! And on Sunday I went to another class and I was still a jogger! A very slow one but I'll take it. Nice to see some real evidence of change with how hard I've been working.

I think we may have worked too hard on Saturday because we both needed a long nap after the gym. Tj slept sooooo long haha. By the time he woke up, it was too late to do anything we had been thinking of, so we just went for a nice walk and dinner at a restaurant we've been wanting to try.

Sunday was the best. After the gym, we did a bit of cleaning, a bit of laundry, and went for a long walk around the neighbourhood. We stopped for brunch and browsed in some shops. I ended the afternoon with another nap and so much reading. I was so into the book I was reading and I finally finished it.

Now it's Sunday night and I need to cook and get ready for the week ahead. I updated my list of nagging tasks and did some life admin so hopefully, I'm all set for a busy week ahead.
