Hoi An
Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are having a good week so far.
Today our Vietnam trip continues and I am excited to share some of Tj’s pictures from Hoi An.
Tj went to Vietnam for work a week before I got there. He had a conference in Hoi An and I am so jealous that I didn’t get to go there. It looks so beautiful.
Here are some things I learned about Hoi An from online here:
Hoi An means peaceful meeting place
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the Japanese, Chinese, and European influences
It has been called the Venice of Vietnam because of the canals
Every year during monsoon season the streets flood
Bikes are very popular. Motorised traffic is prohibited in Old Town from 9am-11am and 3pm-9:30pm.
During the full moon, locals and visitors light small paper lanterns and send them floating down the river
Hoi An is known for their tailors - try Yaly Couture - Tj got some great suits made there!
