Weekend Update
Happy Tuesday!
I hope you are having a great week so far.
Tj and I had a great weekend. We actually got our first taste of freedom in months! Last week Melbourne had a few days of no new COVID cases and no deaths - they called it double donut days and all the shops were sold out of donuts haha. Restrictions have been lifted and retail and restaurants have re-opened. Tj and I enjoyed our first sunny afternoon hanging out on a patio.
On the weekend we went over to our friends’ place to hang out on their balcony. It was a little windy, but we had the best time! It was so much fun just talking to people other than each other haha. It’s still a little strange to see so many people out and about, but it feels like all the restrictions that were in place over the past few months are really paying off.
On Sunday, Tj went mountain biking and I had the morning to myself. I had the best time just watching Christmas movies on Netflix and doing some life admin. It was so relaxing.
Monday we worked, but Tuesday is a holiday for the Melbourne Cup horse race. So it’s kind of a weird long weekend. Unfortunately, Tj has to work, but I am going to try and get all the stuff done around the apartment that I didn’t feel like doing all weekend haha. After work, we are going to go for a little picnic. The weather is sunny and warm. It’s one of the nicest days of the year so far so we definitely want to try and spend some time outside.
Today I am sharing a few pictures of some ‘Spoonvilles’ that popped around my neighborhood during lockdown. I thought these were super cute and such a nice way to try and bring people together from afar, and inspire a bit of hope during all the uncertainty.
