International Day of Happiness 2021
Happy Saturday!
I hope you had a great week.
I'm switching up my schedule this week because today is International Day of Happiness!
This past year has been so different. Some of the things that have made me happy this year would never have occurred to me before. Like the freedom to travel and go more than five kilometers from home. Or eating at a restaurant and seeing friends in person.
There was so much that sucked in 2020 and there is still so much uncertainty going into 2021. I get so sad when I think about how far from ‘normal’ we are. Will Australia ever open its borders? haha. The thing that keeps me going is the fact that so much is out of my control. I can’t worry too much or get too sad because there is nothing I can do about it.
Here are some things that have made me happy lately:
The new season of Formula 1 on Netflix (if you haven't watched this yet, you should - it's sooo good).
The new Harlan Coben book came out this week (may have finished it already haha).
Feeling this little girl move around in my belly. I am so obsessed with her already! We love her so much.
Easter chocolate! I usually give up chocolate for Lent every year, but I gave myself a pregnancy pass this year, which means I actually get to enjoy Easter chocolate lately.
Our new apartment - We love our new space and it really feels like home.
Long chats with family and friends this weekend. Thank goodness for technology :)
Working from home.
Organising my personal files.
Family trivia games (even if I never know the answers).
My plants are still alive. It’s questionable whether one of them will make it, but for now, she’s hanging in there.
Our new fan. It drowns out the street noise and provides the perfect amount of air circulation. It’s way better than the air conditioning in my opinion.
The new Archie comic my aunt sent me from Canada!
Gelato.
Videos and facetime calls with our godson. He loves to fake laugh when he sees me haha.
This Relax-o-Ring from Saje. It’s the best ‘fidget spinner’ during meetings.
I came across this photo I found online in my post last year and it made me think. How much time do I waste on things I don’t care about, versus how much time so I put into the things I do?
We all know that I am good at finding time for reading, but today, on this International Day of Happiness, I am doing all the things that make me happy and trying to think of ways I can make other people a little happier as well.
Have a happy happiness day!
