Introducing Baby Tj

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend.

Well, I started this post over a month ago but I finally got around to finishing it! Ta-da… it is time to officially introduce Baby Tj!

Melbourne is in lockdown again and we are getting pretty used to this lockdown life. Not that Tj and I are doing much nowadays anyways… Baby Tj is keeping us pretty busy around here. My days now are a blur of feedings, changings, and naps. And cuddles. Newborn cuddles are the best!

Two months ago we welcomed our little bub into the world and our lives were changed forever. I think it's safe to say we are both pretty obsessed with her. The lack of sleep, endless laundry and stinky diapers are totally worth it when she holds our finger with her tiny hands or snuggles up to us.

We are pretty much the only people she's been around since she's been born. With all these lockdowns, we haven't had many visitors. Unfortunately, the Australian borders are still shut, which means we haven't been able to see any family. Not being able to share these early days with our family and friends has been the hardest part of this journey.

It's crazy to think that she is dependant on us for everything. We have to make sure she is fed and clean and gets enough rest. It was a bit shocking for Tj and me when we came home… how could we be in charge of this little girl? We were so clueless… we had no idea what we were doing haha.

Slowly but surely we've been figuring it out. And it's been getting a little bit easier every day.

Tj and I are in this together and we've been enjoying all the time on our own as a new family. There have been some lows and a lot of highs. Some days it feels like we have it all figured out and other days we are in complete survival mode.

Baby Tj is our world right now. When we aren't staring at her, we are watching videos or looking at photos. My phone is getting filled up with hundreds of nearly identical photos but sometimes I can't bear to delete any because she is just so cute in all of them haha.

It has been amazing seeing her grow and develop even over such a short time. There was the moment we thought we got our first smile to knowing that she's actually smiling at us. And I feel so proud when I watch her doing tummy time and she holds her head high. We just can't get enough of her!

I love reading to her and taking her for walks. Daddy loves giving her lots of kisses and putting her to bed every night.

As we are adjusting to our new lifestyle, I may not post as frequently, or there may be more pregnancy and baby-related content. I am so excited to share this next leg of my Megan Away adventure!

Have a great week :)
