Where to Buy Books Online
Happy Friday!
This weekend Tj and I are going out for one of his early Christmas presents. I got him tickets to a musical show that he has been wanting to see for years. It's at the same venue as where we saw Harry Potter a few weeks ago which is right beside the casino. I'm sure Tj would love stopping there again too haha. It should be a fun night.
And guess what? Wednesday was our one year anniversary of living in Melbourne! Crazy. Tj and I are working on a special post all about our first year here so make sure to check back next week.
But since it's almost Christmas, I thought I'd recommend some good websites to buy books:
Canada
Indigo
Why I love it: This one is pretty obvious. There's nothing better than grabbing a Starbucks and browsing around Chapters, but the website it actually a great place to shop too. They have a lot more than just books, and there are usually some great gifts in the sale section with a lot more in stock than what is offered in the stores.
Shipping: Free shipping to any store or an all orders over $25
Kobo
Why I love it: I am a loyal Kobo user because when eReaders first came out, Amazon and Kindle weren't available in Canada. Tj bought me my very first Kobo ever. Now I use the app on my iphone or ipad and it's so easy! eBooks are the best because they are so convenient and great for travelling. I never have to worry about how many books I can fit in my bag. I am very excited that they have recently added eAudiobooks and as soon as I use all my Audible credits I am going to switch that to Kobo too.
Shipping: Not applicable - just get the app and you're all set!
Book Outlet
Why I love it: I used to order books from here all the time when I lived in Canada. The selection is limited if you’re looking for new releases, but it's fantastic for kids books, or less recent books. They have great prices! Everything is very affordable. They also have an option for Scratch and Dented books, which may not be in pristine condition, but you can find books for like $3!
Shipping: Free shipping on orders over $45 (A little high but think of how many books you can get!)
Australia:
Booktopia
Why I love it: My bestie from back home gave me a gift card here for my birthday! It's the only place I've ordered books from here :) The best part is ordering books in Australia that aren't available in Canada yet.
Shipping: $6.95 per order
I hope this helps with your Christmas shopping. The best part of shopping online is getting so much accomplished while you are at home watching tv in your pjs haha.
Happy Reading!
P.S. Isn’t my Tiffany cup in the picture the cutest? My mom got Tj and I set for our first anniversary! They are meant to look like paper cups because paper is the traditional first anniversary gift. We love them… thanks mom!
