Five Things

Five Things

Happy Thursday!

This week is flying by. For a second I thought it was Friday already. We are still in lockdown in Melbourne, and COVID cases are the highest they've ever been. It's kind of depressing actually. Like the last year and a half of lockdown have done nothing. On the plus side, it's supposed to rain all weekend and we just want to hang out with Baby Tj all the time anyway haha. I swear we are obsessed with her.

I meant to post this earlier in the week, but here we are. One of my favourite writers used to write a 'Friday five' blog post, and there's another girl I really like who will do a random '12 things'. So today is my spin on that, just 10 random things on my mind.

  1. Last week there was an earthquake! It was the biggest one ever in the state of Victoria! It lasted about 40 seconds but it felt really long. A building in our neighbourhood was damaged but there must have been structural issues because everything else was fine. Seriously though… first there was a fire in our building garage at 4 am and now an earthquake! Life sure is exciting (and a million times scarier) since we brought Baby Tj home.

  2. We took Baby Tj to the beach for the first time! We decided to walk to St. Kilda after work one day but we totally underestimated how far it was and our quick walk took about 45 minutes haha. By the time we got there, it was time for Baby Tj's nap, so she was getting cranky. We got to see a bit of the sunset before we started the long walk back home but we didn't get any nice family photos. Baby Tj cried for most of the walk home but she was all smiles just before we got home haha. We stopped for a big tub of gelato after that one. Whew. Thank goodness for early bedtimes.

  3. We have been discussing potential trips for Christmas in Australia. We are still hoping for some good news regarding international borders, but in the meantime, we are planning a backup trip within Australia. And to be fair, it's Tj who is doing all of the planning. I haven't been very helpful although I did order Baby Tj the cutest little swimsuit so I am contributing in my own way haha. Baby swimsuits are so cute!

  4. We are trying to get organised around the house. We are slowly getting there (and by getting there I mean the thing I bought to organise the cupboard is shoved in the cupboard until I get around to it haha). One of the things I've had to accept since having Baby Tj is that most days, chores just aren't going to get done. If I have to choose between some extra cuddles, or scrubbing the shower, the baby cuddles are always going to win.

  5. Baby Tj is enthralled by the TV lately. I was so excited for some of the new seasons of tv starting up (like Survivor), but if it's on, she's twisting and turning and trying to watch it. Now I read during all her feedings instead of turning on Netflix. I've read some great books this month so check back for my recommendations!

Have a great week :)
