Top 10 Books I Read in 2018
Happy Friday!
It's Tj's birthday this weekend. I am planning a few surprises for him so hopefully they work out.
In 2017 I read 95 books - (click here to see my 2017 favourites).
This year I was down, with only 88 books. You can see a full list of what I read each month here:
In December I read the following books (I got in some good reading time when we were travelling!):
This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel
Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
Deal of a Lifetime and Other Stories by Fredrik Backman
Wrecked by Joe Ide
The Next Person You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom
A Conspiracy of Tall Men by Noah Hawley
Sadie by Courtney Summers
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Long Road to Mercy by David Baldacci
In no particular order, here are some of my favourites from 2018:
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng - I read this book last January and I loved it, especially for the complex family dynamics and class issues but it wasn't too intense.
IQ by Joe Ide - Isaiah is an unlikely hero as he solves mysteries in a rough neighbourhood. I enjoyed this one so much I bought it for my Dad.
Still Me by Jojo Moyes - This is the third book in the series and you know I'm a sucker for a good series. I loved reading what happened next for Louisa.
Crimson Lake by Candice Fox - A detective is accused of abducting a young girl when he moves to Northern Australia and tries to work as a private investigator with a convicted murder.
A Noise Downstairs by Linwood Barclay - Paul stumbles onto a killer and then later believes he is being haunted by his victims. I loved the twists in this book.
The Story of Arthur Truluv by Elizabeth Berg - This is a feel good book. I loved the relationship between old Arthur and eighteen year old Maddy.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman - This one kind of reminded me of The Rosie Project. I was unsure about Eleanor at first but quickly started to love her.
The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine - I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would when I first started it. I love a good deception. Another good one of old wife vs. new wife is The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen.
Lethal White by Robert Galbraith - This is the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series and I think it was my favourite. Aside from the mystery, I love the budding romance.
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty - Read more about why I liked this one here.
I can’t wait to start my new list for 2019!
