My Favourite TV Shows
Happy Thursday!
Now that we have cable we have been enjoying having a TV again. Tj loves watching movies, but I always fall asleep, so I usually prefer tv shows. I love being able to binge watch a tv show and watch a lot of episodes in a row. I get more into it that way. And I love rainy days where you can just chill and watch tv and not feel guilty for having a lazy day. But there are some shows that I love and watch over and over and over and never get sick of them.
Here are some of my go-to favourite shows:
How I Met Your Mother - HIMYM follows Ted and his friends in NYC. Ted from the future is telling his kids the story of how he met their mother. The first few seasons of this show are the best! Even though I've seen every episode so many times I always laugh. When I was a flight attendant I used to bring the dvds with me to watch in the hotel on my laptop. Now it's such a habit that when I'm going to bed, I put on an episode of HIMYM and I fall asleep so fast! It's nice to watch something light and funny. Favourite character: Barney
Entourage - Entourage is about movie star Vincent Chase and his childhood friends and brother as they try and further their careers. This is such a boys show but Tj and I watch it over and over. There is a lot of swearing and some of the lines are so ridiculous you can't believe the characters just said that. We usually put this on when we are eating dinner or something. But even if we think we will just watch one episode we always watch the whole series. Favourite character: Johnny Drama
Younger - Younger is about a 40 year old woman who can't get a job in publishing because she's too old, so she pretends she's 26. It's a newer show but I got hooked really fast. It's super cute and such a good show to watch with girlfriends. It's kind of like a younger Sex and the City. When we went to NYC for my bachelorette party we had fun spotting locations from the show. I don't have a favourite character… I like them all!
Friday Night Lights - FNL is about a high school football team in East Dillon Texas. It follows the players and coaching staff. You don't need to know anything about football or even like football to like the show. It has life lessons and character growth and I love the relationship between Coach Taylor and his wife Tami. Favourite character: Tami Taylor and her hair
Honourable mentions:
Last Man Standing - Starring Tim Allen as a father of 3 teenage girls this time (opposite of Home Improvement). It's a funny family show that even Tj got into. Another show that's nice to just turn on when cooking dinner or something.
Survivor - I watch a lot of reality TV but Survivor is my favourite! It's not the kind of show you want to re-watch though, but we are always completely into when it's airing. I used to do a family survivor pool but I stopped because my mom was the only one who one like 5 times!
