Finding a New Hair Stylist
I've finally gotten my hair done in Melbourne!
It's hard finding a new hair stylist. For one, everyone is very particular about how they like their own hair. I will be annoyed at my hair and no one would know the difference, but then you have to try and explain what you like and want to a new stylist and you just have to trust that they get what you want. Also, getting your hair done can be expensive. And I want it to look nice, but I don't want to break my bank for a haircut, especially when I will need another one in a few months.
Leading up to the wedding I had different hair goals. Sounds silly, but I knew I wanted my hair long and a more natural looking blonde, so not too much balayage or roots. When I moved back to Ottawa from London, I had already chosen my wedding hair stylist, so I went to her for all my hair needs leading up to the wedding. I was really happy with everything she did and I was not looking forward to finding someone new. I was kind of trying to wait it out until my next visit to Canada, but my hair has been driving me nuts, and that's not a very practical long term solution.
I find the best way to find a new hair stylist is through a referral. But I don't know many people in Melbourne yet. So my girlfriend back home suggested I look up some Melbourne bloggers and see where they go. And I got lucky! I googled Melbourne fashion bloggers and checked out their Instagram feeds. One had just had her hair done at a salon near me! So I checked out their Instagram photos and website and was happy with what I saw.
I made an appointment and went in yesterday. The salon is not too far from my house which is super convenient. I was there for a long time, as usual but the chair where you get your hair washed was a massage chair which was super relaxing.
I am really happy with the results. It's a better blonde and my hair feels so much healthier! I can't wait to wash it and try styling it myself!
Hope you have a great day :)
