Travel Throwback Thursday: PEI 2014

Happy Thursday! 

Every year for the Victoria Day long weekend, my dad and other family members go to Rocky Point, PEI to open the cottages for the summer. Since this past weekend my dad drove up with my uncle and my cousin, I thought I'd do my Travel Throwback Thursday about the time Tj and I went PEI in August 2014.  We went with Tj's sister Lisa and my brother Jacob. It was all of their first time going to PEI which was really special for me because I have been going my whole life. I will have to do another post on PEI because I have way better pictures than the ones today. 

Prince Edward Island, or PEI, is known for its red sand and Anne of Green Gables. PEI is about a fourteen-hour drive from Ottawa. Usually when we drive we just want to get there as soon as possible. But this was an adventure for Tj! We stopped in a small town somewhere and had poutine. Yummy! We also got really into audiobooks on this road trip.

We had fun exploring the Rocky Point beach, and my hanging out with my aunt and cousin who were also there. Tj touched his first jellyfish! We played lots of board games, had a lobster dinner and fought over who got to nap in the hammock chair.

One of the highlights was having dinner with my cousin from PEI and then seeing the musical Anne of Green Gables.  I loved it and remembered all of the words to all the songs. Lisa loved it too and she cried when Matthew died. Tj and Jacob enjoyed it, but I think their favourite part was when the man in front of them farted loudly haha. Boys. They definitely had the giggles after that.

Tjs favourite part of the whole trip was driving around the island. It was so scenic and hilly. We went to the famous Cavendish Beach, but we also did something that I've never done in all the time that I've been going to PEI. We went to Basin Head Beach. It was gorgeous! They all jumped in the but I thought the water was freezing. And I was chicken.

Everyone fell in love with PEI. When we travelled with Tj's friends in Europe I would always tell them that one time we will do a trip together to PEI. Next time we go I'll try and do more exploring of the island but I usually don't even want to leave Rocky Point haha.
