FOMO
Happy Monday! It's a long weekend in Canada but not here in Australia and this weekend I definitely had a case of FOMO.
This time last year I was in New York City with my girlfriends for my bachelorette party! It was seriously one of the best and most memorable trips of my life! It was so special to have a weekend away with the girls :) Here's a funny story from that weekend (one that I can tell anyway lol).
My girlfriends surprised me with the whole trip! They planned out an amazing few days with lots of things I loved including good restaurants, a Broadway show, a soul cycle spin class, rooftop bars, tickets to Live with Kelly and Ryan! So I wanted to do a little surprise for them and I arranged for a limo to meet us at the airport and take us to our hotel. I was so excited when I saw the limo driver standing by the baggage carousel holding a sign with my name. I was trying to get my friends attention but I wasn't paying attention and I totally fell on my face at the bottom of the escalator. I forgot to step off LOL. I went flying, my luggage went flying, I was just a hot mess. It was pretty embarrassing but also really funny. My friends kept trying to say don't worry, I'm sure no one saw. And my other friend kept pointing out people and saying, no that guy definitely saw, and they saw, and so did they haha. What a way to start the weekend :)
I had a really special summer last year. I was in Ottawa, my London visa had expired and I didn't have one for Australia yet. It was perfect timing for wedding planning. But it was also just so nice to have so much time at home. I was around for all the babies and birthday parties and housewarmings.
This weekend I was really missing my family and friends and the dogs! I have a few cousins and their kiddos visiting Ottawa right now from all over the world, and I have other family members who looked like they were having a blast in PEI, and some of my friends were in Toronto for a concert and there was like, SO MUCH FUN STUFF going on and I was stuck here in Melbourne, on a cold, windy winter day, bickering with Tj about going to IKEA haha. Sucks being so far away and missing out on everything.
Luckily, Jacob is coming to Australia this week so I won't be homesick for long! He arrives Friday morning and I can't wait! I am so excited to show him all of my favourite Melbourne places.
Have a great week :)
