Happy Monday!

I hope you are having a great week so far.

Tj and I had a really nice weekend and I feel like I was very productive. Even though Christmas is less than a month away, it really doesn’t feel like Christmas. My girlfriends had their annual Christmas party this year and I was definitely feeling major FOMO at missing out.

So to help get us in the holiday mood, we got tickets to see Home Alone with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It was such a treat! We went downtown a bit early so we could have lunch and shop around a bit. The show started at 2:00 pm and ran for about 2.5 hours, with a 20-minute intermission.

It was so much fun! The music was incredible. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched the original Home Alone (usually we prefer Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. I forgot how funny it was. There was a man sitting next to Tj who was laughing so hard the whole movie, the entire row of seats was shaking.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a problem staying awake at the movies even in the best of circumstances. This was no exception. My eyes were getting very heavy. Luckily, there was an intermission and we were able to step out for fresh air, coffee (Tj), cold water and snacks. It was the perfect refresher before the second half of the movie.

The best part was when they brought in a choir for the scene when Kevin is at church. He decides to he needs to protect his house and he runs home - the music and choir at this part were amazing!

I am so glad we attended this event and I think we both feel more in the holiday spirit now. And as a bonus - I can now open the gifts that my girlfriends sent back with Tj when he was in Canada a few months ago! Woohoo.

Have a great week!
