Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend. I feel like I am finally adjusted back to Melbourne time. There were a few days last week where I was up at 3:00 am just wide awake. The tricky thing now is that it's so dark in the mornings. The sun doesn't come out until about 7:30 am so when I wake up without the help of an alarm clock I'm not sure if it's the middle of the night or if it's an appropriate time to wake up.

Today I thought I'd share some pictures from my quick trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I popped over for four days and three nights while I was back in Canada to see one of my beautiful besties get married! It was so special and I was really happy to be able to time my trip so I could celebrate with her.

It was also awesome to have some quality girl time with my friends. We did a lot of eating and drinking and swimming and napping.

We stayed at the Melia Caribe Tropical resort. It was so beautiful! The grounds were so green and pretty and the staff were always very helpful. There were lots of restaurants and different pools to try. The first night we had a bachelorette dinner at the Italian restaurant and it was delicious! We were craving the pizza for the rest of the week. I can also highly recommend the Thai restaurant. And of course, every night when we walked back to our room we stopped at the late night buffet at the Mexican restaurant for some nachos. The drinks were delicious. My favourite new find tasted like an alcoholic frosty - I definitely want to try and re-create that this summer.

We even left the resort one night for the bachelorette party. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous about leaving the resort. But the club we went to, Coco Bongo, was a blast! The performances were absolutely incredible. It was like being in the middle of a Vegas show. My favourite was the Gladiator one.

The entertainment on the resort was pretty good as well. One night we saw a Queen show with a Freddy Mercury impersonator who was so talented. What a performer! And we also went to a silent disco. Everyone wore earphones and there were three different DJs playing different types of music. You can switch stations to listen to whatever song you prefer. I thought it was going to be so lame but it was SOOOO much fun. I think that might be my new ideal way to go out dancing. Everyone is having fun because there is music for everyone. And when you need a break you can take your earphones off and have a conversation without yelling haha. The only drawback is you can't sing along loudly with the music.

And finally, the wedding. The main event and the reason we were all there. It was so perfect!!!!! My friends all looked beautiful and especially the bride! She was so stunning. She wrote her own vows and they were so genuine she had us all in tears. We had a lovely reception and then danced the night away.

It was a wonderful celebration and a great little getaway! Congrats A and B!

Hope you have a great week :)
