Friday Favourite: Me Before You
Happy Friday!
I mean it is Friday, right? It could be Thursday or Tuesday…. all the days are starting to blur together now lol. I hope you are having a great week so far. It is Easter weekend and in Melbourne both Good Friday and Easter Monday are holidays so we have four days off and nothing to do. I miss travelling so much!
I bought a new puzzle, and Tj bought a dresser from Ikea that he needs to put together, so we are both finding ways to keep busy.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Favourite. Today I chose Me Before You by Jojo Moyes which is conveniently on sale from Kobo today for $3.99!
This is the first book in a trilogy and given all the time on our hands, it might be a good time to start a new series. At first, I thought this was the perfect light read to recommend during these uncertain times. But it’s not that light and actually deals with some dark and controversial themes. The characters are completely lovable and this one definitely made me laugh out loud and cry my eyes out.
If you’re not in the mood for reading, check out the movie. Emilia Clarke does an amazing job bringing Louisa to life.
Here is the description from Kobo:
They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .
Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?
