Happy Friday!

I hope you’re having a great week so far.

It’s time for another Megan Away book review!

The Book:

The House in the Cerulean Sea by Tj Klune

What it’s about:

Linus Baker is a by-the-book case worker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth. He's tasked with determining whether six dangerous magical children are likely to bring about the end of the world

Arthur Parnassus is the master of the orphanage. He would do anything to keep the children safe, even if it means the world will burn. And his secrets will come to light.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is an enchanting love story, masterfully told, about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place—and realizing that family is yours.

Why I wanted to read it:

I had been seeing this book all over bookstagram (accounts about books on instagram). Multiple people said it was their favourite book of the year, and they recommended it for fans Harry Potter. I knew I had to read this one!

Final thoughts:

Ahh, this one gives me all the feels! It definitely held up to hype and will be one of my favourite books I read this year for sure. It is exactly the kind of book I have been drawn to during this pandemic.

Linus is a dedicated government worker, caught up in his routine. He gets chosen to inspect an orphanage for magical children and has no idea how this case will change his life. It’s heartening to go on this journey with him as he evolves and finds his voice.

The magical children are so much fun and a real treat for your imagination. This story has elements of hope and kindness and a reminder that there are always people who will help (just like Mr. Rogers advised!).

Definitely read this one if you are looking for a little extra magic if your life.

Have a great weekend.

Happy reading :)
