2 Cellos

Happy Monday! 

I hope you had a great weekend.

Tj and I had a lot of fun. We had a busy day on Saturday. We went for breakfast, went to dinner, the casino and then went to a concert. One of my early Christmas presents for Tj this year was tickets to see 2 Cellos! 2 Cellos is a duo who perform theme songs from movies and shows, and cover some classic songs. You can read more about them here. 

Some of their most popular covers are Smooth Criminal and Thunderstruck.

We go to a lot of events that are more for things that I am interested in, but this one was all for Tj. He first told me about them about a year ago. I looked up to see if they had any upcoming performance in Australia but we had just missed one. I don’t know how I thought of checking again this year, but it was perfect timing. We were almost going to be gone traveling this weekend, but those plans fell through. So I was really hoping this show would make up for not being able to go away.

And early in the concert they played Tj’s favourite song - Now We are Free, the theme song from the movie Gladiator.

My favourite was the Game of Thrones theme song and Hallelujah.

They also did some really good rock and roll songs that got the audience standing on their feet dancing! At a cello concert! It was so cool. There was a full light show, and a smoke machine. It was not what I was expecting at all! Everyone was so into it, singing along and clapping. The guys themselves were pretty funny when they talked and I swear they had some groupies hanging out near the front of the stage lol.

We both loved it and if you ever get the chance to go I would highly recommend you check them out.
