This blog is supposed to be a record of our life and our time here in Melbourne. And that means the good and the bad.

Last week I had the high of my birthday and the low of losing my grandmother.

I usually pre-write some of my blog posts and update them throughout the week before scheduling the post for the next morning, but I wasn't ready to talk about this. I struggle sometimes with how much to share. For example, when we have friends visiting, I don't usually post pictures with them unless I specifically ask, but when Lisa was visiting I had whole blog posts with her.

This is truly the hardest part of living abroad. I really want to be there to hang out with my family and share stories, and hear new ones, and say goodbye. I'm just so far away! It really helped me that my cousins started a group chat and told some funny memories and pictures. And Tj left work early to hang out with me and my best girlfriends from back home sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It's really special to just know I have some great people that are there for all the highs and lows. They are the first people I tell when there is good news, and the first people I turn to when things get tough.

When I think of Babi and Grandad I always think of PEI. I have so many memories of them in Rocky Point. One time I was scared of a little snake that my cousins had found. Babi came across the street and picked it right up and told me I was silly. Ewwwww. When I had a mouse in my flat in London I had it in my mind that if my grandmother wouldn't be afraid of it neither should I and I tried to be brave like Babi LOL. I used to love when she would tell me stories about my dad when he was a little kid. My favourite was the one where he wanted a purse haha. Every time I would visit her she would always be dressed nicely and accessorised. I never dress that nicely at home! I would try to look nice if I knew I was going to visit and I definitely couldn't wear my ripped jeans. At my wedding my aunt wheeled Babi into the middle of the dance circle and she busted a few moves for everyone :)

I feel lucky that I had Babi for so many years and sad that she's  gone already. Love you xoxo.
