Friday Favourite: World War Z
Happy Friday!
Woohoo for the weekend. It's been a short work week here, but it has flown by. Tj and I are both pretty busy at work lately, but that's ok because it's almost winter here and it gets dark early and by the time I get home and make dinner I don't feel like I'm missing out on much. It is a little weird that everyone back home is enjoying the nice almost summer weather. I'm never going to get used to opposite seasons lol.
Someone at work this week told me they like my accent! Haha can you imagine, I'm the one with a cool accent?! So weird.
Another funny thing happened. I've had a few past coworkers jokingly make fun of how I have an apple as an afternoon snack every single day. In London I developed a new trick - I sprinkle cinnamon on my apple slices! Apples and cinnamon are so good together, it seemed like a waste not to eat it like that all the time. Well one of my coworkers here was travelling with her teenage children and she gave them apple slices with cinnamon and she said they loved it and kept asking for more haha. I'm starting a new lunchtime snack trend :)
Today's book post is about another one of my favourite books - World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks.
This book was lent to me by my brother. Actually, I just stole it from his room. And this is one time where I saw the movie before I read the book! Tj and I both really liked this movie so I was curious about the book. Jacob really liked it so I had a feeling it would be good.
It was different than anything I had ever read before. The oral history format was so interesting. From what I remember it's people being interviewed or giving their account of their experience in the zombie war. This has definitely just jumped to the top of my 'read again' list! Maybe I'll try and find the audiobook from the library. I would definitely recommend this book, and given that Jacob liked it, we know it's teenage boy approved!
I stayed up past my bedtime to write this post on Thursday night because I had to update my computer and it took foreverrrrrrrrrrrr for it to restart. So I'm off to bed now, but have a great weekend!
Also, Happy Father's Day in Canada to my dad and uncles and grandpa and all the dads out there! Xoxo.
