Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a good weekend and a happy Father's Day!

Our weekend was nice and quiet! Friday night I was watching this show on Netflix (100% Hotter) that my friend Erin recommended. It's a makeover show, but the cool thing was I kept seeing so many shots of our old neighbourhood in London! I can't believe that in a city as big as London I could recognize a hardware store and some of the side streets. I miss that place!!!

On Saturday Tj slept in (all day!) and I went to the gym and did groceries. On the way home I picked us each up a latte from Tj's favourite coffee shop, so my arms were pretty full with grocery bags and takeaway cups. On the corner near home, there was a store with a big line up around the block, but I didn't know what it was all about. So I dropped everything off, went back down and waited in the line before I made it into the store. It was a Frank Body pop-up shop. I had never heard of this brand, but they have a lot of cruelty-free, natural skin care products. The pop-up shop was super cute and earlier in the day they had been giving out cupcakes and coffees. Inside there was a table with a conveyer belt and everyone would grab a seat and then the boxes would start coming out and going around the table. So creative!

Inside the box were three items - a sleep eye mask, and full-sized FREE samples of their Birthday Cake Scrub and Body Cream. The body cream smells like cake! The birthday cake scrub is a new product in honour of the brand's fifth birthday. It is made of raw sugar, coconut husk, roasted and ground robusta coffee beans, and matcha tea and avocado oil. In my picture, the stuff in the cocktail glass is the actual scrub. I tested it out on Sunday and my skin has never been smoother!

Years ago my friend Mel gave me a really good body scrub that was also coffee based. I loved it but never replaced it when I finished it. The only drawback was it was really messy. When I used it, it looked like I threw coffee grinds all over the bathtub lol. This Birthday Cake scrub is more sugar based. The oil makes it wet too, whereas the other one was completely dry.

They got me in the store with the promise of free goodies, but I would definitely buy this product. I might even want to try a different kind next time! The only drawback is that I smell a tiny bit like coffee lol, which is fine but as a non-coffee drinker it's not my favourite smell.

The rest of Saturday was very relaxing. Tj and I went for a big walk and then watched some old movies. We also watched the new Tomb Raider movie and recognized our old neighbourhood AGAIN! Ahhh London!

Sunday I woke up and I thought it must be the middle of the night it was so dark out. It was just a big storm! It was pouring rain and super windy. I have been waiting for a day like this! I love when it's miserable out and you have nothing to do but stay cozy inside. It was the perfect morning to make a big cup of tea and curl up with a good book and a blanket. I just finished a dud but I'm really excited about the new book I'm reading.

I also tried to make Tj some protein powder pancakes. Jacob and I made some in Ottawa once and they were better than regular pancakes but the ones I made were absolutely disgusting! I threw them all in the garbage and made Rice Krispie squares instead lol.

It was a nice and relaxing weekend before a busy week ahead!

Have a great week :)
