Weekend Update

Weekend Update

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty low-key. I went to the gym, did groceries, laundry, cleaning, and all my regular weekend chores. I also finished my puzzle. It was a hard one so I enjoyed just looking at it for a few days before packing it up.

The highlight of my weekend was heading to the Prahran Market for the Say Cheese Festival. I got a free cookbook and bought the most delicious piece of cheesecake, dipped in melted chocolate, covered in crumbled Oreos and drizzled with Nutella. It was so yummy! I carried it home and ate it there because there was no way I wasn’t going to end up with chocolate all over my face haha. I didn’t eat it all so I put the rest in the freezer, but just looking at that picture is making me want to have some more.

My eye was super swollen last week which made me tired and it was hard to read. Luckily, it’s almost back to normal now, so I was able to get some good reading in over the the weather hasn’t been the greatest, but rainy, overcast days are perfect for curling up with a good book. I actually stayed up way past my bedtime on Sunday night to finish a book I had just started that morning. I just had to see how it ended.

I’ve starting making a photobook with all my old blog posts. It’s going to take a while to put together, but it’s going to be really special when I am done. This weekend I only got through January 2018. It's definitely going to take a lot longer to make than I thought it would, but it’s fun to look through all my old pictures again.

You may have noticed I have cut back on posting. Things have been pretty quiet around here while Tj has been traveling. I think I will cut it back to just 1-2 updates a week, probably Mondays and Fridays.

I’ve been itching to start writing again. I enjoy writing fiction but it’s been a while. When I started this blog, I wasn’t working and I was getting a bit stressed while job searching. I started dividing up my time. Everyday I would spend a few hours on job stuff, a few hours writing, and then I started planning Megan Away.  Writing and working on Megan Away were my favourite parts of the day. Then when I started working, the first thing that dropped off was my own writing. I was having a lot of fun with Megan Away and it was keeping me from getting too homesick.

Lately work has been really busy and I’ve been going to the gym a lot, and I really want to find some more time to write. So I am going to use the extra time I usually work on Megan Away to work on some writing projects.

There should be some fun stuff coming up soon though because we are getting a few visitors at the end of November. YAY. My cousin and cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) are coming to Melbourne and we are so excited to show them around! I think it's going to be a really great summer!

Have a great day :)
