5 Things I'm Loving Lately
Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are having a great week so far. It's cold and rainy here in Melbourne but it's not so bad. On the weekend Tj and I went out and he had to go back to change his jacket because it wasn't as cold out as we expected.
Today I thought I'd share five things I've been loving lately.
Hot water bottle
I bought a hot water bottle for the first time ever and I've been missing out! Other than the fact that it smells like rubber, this thing is great. It's so soothing. We haven't lived anywhere with a bathtub in years, so it's nice to put the heat on when I have sore muscles after the gym, or when I'm watching tv and I have a bit of a chill. I can't believe I've never had one before.
Bill Nye’s Science Rules podcast
Bill Nye the Science Guy has a new podcast called Science Rules! My favorite episode so far is The Right Drug for the Right Bug about antibiotics and bacteria. I have a slightly longer walk to get to the train station and back everyday, so I've been enjoying listening to more podcasts. I remember being super into this one on my way home after work one day, but that could be my inner science geek.
Younger
Younger is one of my favourite shows and the new season just started. I'm so excited! I've been re-watching some of the older seasons and I just love this show. The episodes are short so it's easy to put on when I am making dinner or hanging the laundry up to dry. I wrote about it with my other favourite tv shows here. I'm also really looking forward to the new season of Veronica Mars but that one hasn't started yet.
Sunsets
We get a great view of the sunset at our new apartment and it makes my day:) My favourite thing to do on weekends is to watch how the sky changes during the different stages of the sunset. It goes down really early right now, so by the time I get home from work it's already dark out. But on weekends I like to read on the couch and enjoy the view. I can't wait for the warmer weather so we can spend more time on the balcony. I’ll have to put down my book and take a picture next time.
Today's photo credit goes to my dad who took this amazing picture of a sunrise in PEI a few weeks ago! No filter!
Having my own closet
For the first time ever since Tj and I have lived together we each have our own closet. It's awesome. I feel so organised! In London we had a teeny tiny closet so I stored out of season stuff in luggage under the bed and when the seasons changed I'd rotate my wardrobe. In Melbourne the weather is pretty good all year round, but it's nice to have all my belongings in one spot and not in storage (ignoring everything we still own in Canada). I put my tidying up skills to use and even Tj has organised his man cave lol.
Honourable mentions to things I've been loving lately go to Iced Green Tea and our newly renovated grocery store!
