Happy Friday!

I hope you are having a great week so far. As usual, I am really looking forward to the weekend. Tj and I are going to try a popular restaurant in our new neighbourhood, and I'm on the hunt for some artwork for our new place.

It’s now less than six months til Christmas, and next Monday is Canada Day! Here are some Canadian book recommendations I put together last year.

What I’m reading now:

Right now I am about 60% through the book Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman.

This thriller is one of Reese Witherspoon's book club picks, and apparently her company is going to make it into a movie.

What it's about:

If you could make one simple choice that would change your life forever, would you?

Erin is a documentary filmmaker on the brink of a professional breakthrough, Mark a handsome investment banker with big plans. Passionately in love, they embark on a dream honeymoon to the tropical island of Bora Bora, where they enjoy the sun, the sand, and each other. Then, while scuba diving in the crystal blue sea, they find something in the water. . . .

Could the life of your dreams be the stuff of nightmares?

Suddenly the newlyweds must make a dangerous choice: to speak out or to protect their secret. After all, if no one else knows, who would be hurt? Their decision will trigger a devastating chain of events. . . .

Have you ever wondered how long it takes to dig a grave?

What I think so far:

The book is really interesting so far and I can’t wait to see how it will all come together. I am really questioning some of the decisions the characters made and I don't understand their motivation. The first scene in the book really foreshadows something major coming, and it's making me mistrust the characters and question their intentions. However, the subplot of Erin's documentary is very interesting and I want to know how it will tie in. I'm at the point in the book where I am just dying to know what happens and I just want to read all night. Hopefully it will hold up!

Have a great weekend.

Happy reading :)
