Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are having a great week so far.

I had the best Monday at work. It was Canada Day and my coworkers are so lovely - one of them dressed in red and white, and a few made some Canadian recipes like butter tarts and Nanaimo bars. It was so sweet. My own Nanaimo bars turned out all right in the end and they were pretty yummy! Tj said they were a big hit at his office too. I've had major FOMO seeing what everyone in Canada has been up to but it definitely helped being surrounded by such nice people at work.

Saturday was absolutely miserable and pouring rain. Tj picked up our new dining table chairs from the store and they didn't fit in the Uber and he got soaking wet while we waited for another one. He was not a happy camper when he got home. But luckily we love the chairs so that cheered him up. We actually originally ordered a different set of chairs, and as we were leaving the store we saw some we like better. We tried to change our order but they said they were sold out. It was kind of a bummer because now we knew we didn't love the chairs we were going to get but we couldn't get the ones we actually wanted. Fortunately, when I called the store later that week they had some in stock. I was nervous to see what we would actually end up with but I think we are both really happy with how they turned out. Our new place is slowly coming together and starting to feel like home :) I'm still stuck on art though.

On Saturday night Tj and I tried a restaurant in our new neighbourhood. They have the coolest concept! It's called Atlas Dining. It casual fine dining, and every four months they change their menu for different cuisines of the world. This time it was China! We had a six-course meal. The presentation was impeccable. I thought the prettiest dish was the soup. They plate the ingredients and then the server pours the broth from a little teapot. So fun! The best part was that they were able to make everything vegetarian. They are very accommodating for different diets and allergies such as vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free. The worst part for Tj was the portion sizes. He ate all of his dishes and probably half of mine and we still had to stop at the store for milk on the way home so he could have some cereal LOL. Next time we would try a different cuisine, but for now greasy Chinese food is the best Chinese food haha.

Have a great week :)
