I like books, baking and travel. Follow along with me as I begin my new adventure in Melbourne!

Happy Friday!

It's almost the weekend… and you know what that means… lots of time for reading! It's a long weekend here so I'm not sure what we will get up to. Hopefully we can hang out at a beach and test out the new beach blanket Lisa surprised us with.

I've been sharing some of the books I've read, and some of my favourites, but today I thought I'd share some of the books on my 'To Read' list. This includes books that are already out and books that haven't been released yet.

If I'm out and see a book that looks good, or if I see something on twitter or online somewhere I'll take a picture and then every now and then I go through them all and add them to my 'To Read' list. I also keep a list of authors I really like and once every few months I'll check their websites to see if they have anything new coming out soon. I find that if I enter all the books I read on Goodreads, they will send me an email with recommendations when authors I've read have new stuff coming out.

If it's a book I'm just dying to read and I can't wait, I will pre-order the ebook. Otherwise I will check if it's available from the library. If there's a long waitlist, I will request it right away. But if it's available right away, or if it's a short waitlist, I might wait to check it out depending on how many books I have waiting to read. LOL I have to be strategic! I am only able to checkout ebooks for 21 day so if I already have a few checked out I save it for when I have more time to read.

Here is a snapshot of my current 'To Read' list. This includes books that are already out and books that haven't been released yet.

Books I already own:

  1. How to Be Everything by Emilie Wapnick
  2. A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton
  3. We are Water by Wally Lamb
  4. Slightly South of Simple by Kristy Woodson Harvey
  5. The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo
  6. Elon Musk: Tesla, Spacex, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance
  7. Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

  4. Still Me by Jojo Moyes (#5 on 13 copies)
  5. Surprise Me by Sophia Kinsella (#60 on 5 copies)
  6. A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro (#1 on 1 copy)

Coming Soon:

  1. Not if I Save You First by Ally Carter (released March 27)
  2. I Have Lost my Way by Gayle Forman (released March 27)
  3. The Fallen by David Baldacci (April 17)
  4. The Ever After by Sarah Pekkanen (released June 5)
  5. A Conspiracy of Tall Men by Noah Hawley (released June 5)
  6. All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffen (released June 26)

Other books I want to read:

  1. Never Never by James Patterson and Candice Fox
  2. Fifty Fifty by James Patterson and Candice Fox
  3. I Liked my Life by Abby Fabiaschi
  4. The General's Daughter by Nelson Deville
  5. The Reminders by Val Emmich

What I pick up next depends on what becomes available at the library and what kind of mood I'm in. Also if I will be travelling, I try and find a book set wherever I'm going.

If you have anything you recommend, let me know so I can add it to my 'To Read' list.

Have a great weekend :)
