Father's Day Gift Ideas
Happy Wednesday!
Father's Day is coming up on Sunday, June 17th. Actually, in Australia, Father's Day isn't until Sunday, September 2nd, but since my dad lives in Canada that's when I'll be celebrating from afar. I'm doing this post early so you have time to order things online if you need to.
Traditionally my dad has been a lot easier to shop for than my mom (although I did score a few hits with her birthday gifts this year!). He doesn't buy himself much, except maybe toys for his truck haha.
Here are some of my best Father's Day gift ideas:
Books:
The Outsider by Stephen King - This new book by Stephen King just came out. Fun fact - my dad gave me the first and only Stephen King book I've ever read - The Eyes of the Dragon. I loved it but I've been too scared to read his other books. But if I get him this new book, that means I can borrow it, right?
Crimson Lake by Candice Fox - I wrote yesterday about how much I am loving this new series set in Northern Australia. It's a crime thriller that is easy to get into.
Hominids by Robert. J. Sawyer - This series went around my family a few years ago. This is the first book in the sci-fi trilogy The Neandrathal Parallex and one of the only sci-fi books I've really enjoyed.
Other:
Apple Airpods - Tj bought these for my mom and they have been a huge hit. They are great for using your phone hands-free. I think they would be perfect to use when working out. A bit of a splurge but it's good to keep our parents up to date with the latest technology lol.
Poo Pourri - watch one of the youtube videos like 'How To Poop at a Party'. That's all you need to know lol.
Air Bag Lounger - I know these are popular for festivals, but doesn't it just look like something a dad would like? Lol, my dad would probably put a blanket on it and let his dog lie on it, but it's something different that he wouldn't already have!
Cribbage board - A nice wooden cribbage board is so classic. My dad gave me a really nice one but I didn't bring it to Australia because I was scared it would get confiscated (I heard customs are very strict here). This isn't the same company that made mine, but this one looks nice, or you can find customized options on Etsy.
Travel Bag - When I went to PEI with my dad last year he had all his clothes in an old empty printer box. That's right. A cardboard box. I think a nice travel bag is very handy. This is a brand that caught my dad's eye when we were at Bass Pro Shop one time. It's nice and masculine and practical.
If you're on a budget, I think dads and grandpas and uncles always liked baked goods! A nice batch of cookies or a cake is easy to whip together! Or you can't go wrong with candy!
Have fun shopping :)
