Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s been a few years since I’ve spent Thanksgiving in Canada. I miss my family and friends (and home country!) so much more around any holiday, but especially at Thanksgiving. Some of my favourite memories are of spending Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle’s cottages (on both sides of my family!). We would play games and goof around and eat way too much delicious food.
Some years I would get two Thanksgiving dinners and those were the best years.
Another time, I had to work or I had exams or something and I missed all Thanksgiving dinners. My cousin Taylor and I ordered pizza and made our own Thanksgiving (I don't remember but maybe Jacob was there too).
And once in a while, I got to go to Friendsgiving and enjoy a yummy meal and play games with my friends.
Last year I wrote about all the things I am thankful for. And this year all of those are still true.
I was alone today because Tj is still away, but it was still a really nice day. I baked some cookies, and made a vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner for one. Reading my post from last year put a smile on my face, and as I was trying to find a picture I could use for today, I had a blast looking at some old pictures and sending them to people.
Even though I am far away from all the debauchery, I am thankful for the facetimes and the family group chats that make me feel like I am right there with everyone I love.
Special shout out this year… my wonky eye and I are especially thankful for my sister-in-law who is an eye doctor! One of my eyelids is super swollen so I've been wearing sunglasses in the stores all weekend but I'm ready to go to work tomorrow looking like Quasimodo hahaha.
P.S. This photo is from our friends Dave and Lauryn's wedding - isn't the arch beautiful?!
