Travel Throwback: Lisbon!

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was pretty quiet and relaxing but it went by too quickly.

COVID cases are up big time in Melbourne, and it's a little depressing. Some postcodes are back in lockdown and other states don't want people from Melbourne to visit. I was hopeful that we would at least be able to travel around Australia, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. Who knows when international travel will be allowed. We are lucky to be able to work from home and generally cases in Australia are still very low. But last week I was feeling a little bit trapped here. I was looking forward to going to Canada this summer, and that's definitely not going to happen and now I'm not even sure if travel at Christmas will be possible.

So to cheer myself up, I went through some of my old photos and today I'm going to share some pictures from when Tj and I went to Lisbon, Portugal!

We went to Lisbon in November 2016. We met some friends for the weekend but we arrived the day before they did. We got there early in the day, so we dropped our things at the Airbnb and then Tj and I went for lunch. He found a little hole in the wall that had amazing reviews. Tj had a seafood stew that was meant to be shared between two people at least, but he ate the whole thing himself. He also had a whole bottle of wine with his lunch. We had woken up in London at like 3:00 am, so after lunch, we were tired and went back for a nap. Well, Tj ate so much that he slept all day. He napped for about 5 hours and he didn't wake up until after 8:00 pm. I went out on my own and when he woke up he called me and we met up and went to the Time Out market. When we think back about this trip we always laugh at how much he ate.

Our friends came the next day and we had so much fun exploring together. They had been to Lisbon before and they showed us around. They also took us to a really creepy bar that had an old dentist chair and felt like it was straight out of a horror movie.

Our trip to Lisbon was short and sweet and I'd love to go back someday! For now, I will just have to enjoy the pictures and memories.
